Hankie the Homemaker

Kari has been really busy lately cleaning up the house. It is not as easy for her to get around as it used to be, seeing that she is pregnant and all. She said that she wanted to get the entire house cleaned at the same time before the baby comes. Well, last night she finally got it (mostly). Kari isn’t the only one that’s been trying to get the house in order. For the past several months, Hank has been trying to build a nest in the bottom of his cage. He likes to pile up feathers and food in a certain spot. He is also fond of taking the plastic cores of his honey treats and wedging them into the bars of his cage—usually aranged parallel to each other. He has five sticks in there now that he is constantly rearranging. I suppose it is a good thing because it keeps him occupied. Sometimes, when he is getting a little noisy, Kari will knock down all of his sticks to give him something to do. That usually keeps him busy for about 30 seconds.
Here is a picture of some of Hank’s handiwork.

So are his sticks sticking straight out of the cage?

They’re wedged up parallel with it (the knobby things on each end are wedged between the bars).

So why does he like them to be so neatly aligned?

That’s what his shrink is trying to figure out.
