T.G.I.F.

My employer had go out of town for a couple todays, and today was the first day that he was gone. I decided to leave for work a few minutes earlier than usual so I could get the store opened by 8:00. All was going well until I tried to unlock the door—when I discovered that sometime within the last 23 hours or so the key to the store had come off of my keyring. As I said, today was the first day that my employer (the only other person I know of who has a key to the store) was out of town.
The guy that runs the presses was coming in at 9:00, but he does not have a key. I walked around to the other stores in the office center, but most of them were not to open until 9:00. I finally found one that was open and called my wife to have her check the appartment for the key. She could not find the key, so I decided to try to get into the office without one. On MacGeyver, he uses his Swiss army knife for everything, but I didn’t have any luck with it. I also tried a paper clip, but still without any success. Here in Fargo, it has been cold again the last couple of days, and while I like cold weather, one can only stand out in it for so long before it starts to get to him. Eventually the press guy arrived, and he suggested that I go to a few of the places that I was yesterday to check for the key. Unfortunately, we went to quite a few places looking for baby stuff last night. I went to a couple of the places not expecting to find the key, and I was not dissapointed. After I went home to look there, my wife went back with me and we tried breaking into the office again. We tried for a while longer, and since we had not gotten it when the press guy came back, he decided to go home until we got inside.
Within five minutes of his leaving, I finally figured out how to get the door open with a paper clip. It took about 2 hours and 45 minutes to get inside, but, Ironically, it’s pretty easy once one knows how. My wonderful wife went to pick up some food for us, and we had a quick and early lunch so I wouldn’t use up any more of the work day than I had to.
Other than the being locked out for most of the morning it was a pretty good day, but I’m glad it’s Friday.
Kari’s Addendum:
I have only one thing to say here, folks: If you marry a man who knows how to pick locks, don’t ever leave home without him! (Especially if you’re in the habit of leaving home without your keys!)

I have a suggestion. Why not try looking at Mr. Letty’s grave site… Like I said, just a suggestion…

The people next to the office where I work found the key in the parking lot the other day. We looked there, but there was some snow on the ground which might have hidden it.

So Julianna, Mr. Letty can’t be blamed for EVERYTHING! He just smelled bad, that was all.
